Airlines in Hot Seat over Child Policies

I didn’t even realise there was a policy.

Now women may be perceived as being more child friendly but for heaven’s sake, every kid out there has a mother AND a father. So there are a good many Dads who are travelling. Yes, there are more male sex offenders than female ones but the vast majority of males are pretty ok with kids.

I’m sure that Stephen would be a much more fun person than me to travel with if I was a kid. And if I was the woman who had to swap seats I would be more than a little pissed off.

We had the end of year wrapup tonight at the Darwin Sailing Club. Stephen didn’t go but I took the kids and Hanna went up for Dad’s logbook. From our bunch there was Karen, Liz myself and Tonya. Got some good photos of the kids and the sunset of course.

Van Nguyen

No matter how terrible you consider the crime of drugsmuggling, capital punishment should make you stop in your tracks. The case of Van Nguyen has certainly stopped Australia in its tracks. There have been many contacts, official and unofficial, at all levels trying to convince the Singaporean government to show clemency.

The Singaporean government does not feel that way inclined and personally, at this late stage, I would not expect the to change there minds. There has been talk of bringing this case to the World Court. I suspect that it would be a complete waste of time. But I do think that the effort as futile as it may be, would be worthwhile.

Thursday is the last day for a hearing at the World Court. The hanging occurs in the early morning on Friday.

I love the pose. I’m trying to remember if my breasts ever looked as pert as that.
Nah, probably not ;)
